What this site is

This site is operated by McLaughlin for AG, the principal campaign committee for Jeff McLaughlin's candidacy for Attorney General of Alabama.

It is a campaign website. It is not a website of the Office of the Attorney General of Alabama, not a website of any government agency, and not affiliated with or endorsed by the State of Alabama. It is also not a website of Mr. McLaughlin's private law practice.

This is not legal advice, and we are not your lawyers

Nothing on this website is legal advice. Jeff McLaughlin is a practicing attorney, and he is running for an office that carries legal authority — but this campaign cannot and does not give legal advice to visitors, supporters, or anyone else.

Contacting this campaign does not create an attorney-client relationship. Emailing contact@mclaughlinforag.com, filling out a form, commenting on our social media, or speaking with campaign staff or volunteers does not make us your lawyers and does not make anything you tell us confidential or privileged.

Please do not send us confidential information about a legal matter. We cannot protect it, we cannot act on it, and sending it to us may harm your own case.

If you have a legal problem, talk to a licensed attorney. If you need to report a crime, contact local law enforcement. If you want to file a consumer complaint, contact the Alabama Attorney General's Consumer Interest Division or the Federal Trade Commission. This campaign is not a substitute for any of them, and it cannot intervene in a pending case.

Using our materials

The content on this site — text, photographs, video, the McLaughlin for AG logo and wordmark, graphics, and design — is owned by the campaign or used with permission, and is protected by copyright and trademark law.

You are welcome, and encouraged, to share our content as a supporter: post it, link to it, print it, hand it to your neighbor. What you may not do is alter it in a way that misrepresents the campaign's position, use it to suggest the campaign endorses your business, product, organization, or candidacy, use it in a way that violates Alabama campaign finance or election law, or sell it.

Official campaign materials distributed for public use carry the required "Paid for by" disclaimer. If you reproduce them, keep the disclaimer on them.

Things you may not do here

Do not use this site to break the law, to impersonate anyone, to harass or threaten anyone, to send malware, to scrape or harvest information, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site or its systems, or to interfere with its operation.

What you send us

Anything you send us through this site or to our campaign email — a message, a photograph, a suggestion, an endorsement quote — may be used by the campaign, including publicly, unless you tell us otherwise. Please do not send us anything you would not want repeated. Do not send confidential information (see above). Do not send anything you do not have the right to give us.

Contributions

Contributions are processed by ActBlue, on ActBlue's site, under ActBlue's terms. Contributions to a candidate campaign are not tax deductible as charitable contributions. Contributions may only be made by U.S. citizens and lawfully admitted permanent residents, must be from your own funds, and may not be made in another person's name or reimbursed by anyone else. Contributions are publicly disclosed as Alabama law requires.

We link to ActBlue, to social media platforms, to news coverage, and to other campaigns on the Change Ticket. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, or their privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.
